We’ve all been set-up on a blind date at one point or another during our life. A friend of a friend of a friend who might just be the person we’ve been searching for? Who hasn’t heard that before! While going on a blind date can seem fun and adventurous, there are many things one must consider before actually going through with it. I mean, we are agreeing to meet a perfect stranger in a somewhat romantic setting. So you do have to be on your guards a little bit and make sure you’re not agreeing to anything too crazy. We’ve prepared a set of rules, some standard do’s and don’t of a blind date. If you make sure to live by these rules and follow them, then we can pretty much guarantee that you’ll come out of it harmless.

  • DO talk on the phone first
  • DO meet in a public place
  • DO keep an open mind (they may surprise you!)
  • DO make an effort to seem interested
  • DO have some fun
  • DO keep it short and sweet
  • DO stay cautious
  • DO have an escape plan just in case
  • DO stay positive
  • DO stay true to yourself

  • DON’T go somewhere private where it’s just the two of you
  • DON’T have him pick you up or drop you off so they know where you live.
  • DON’T overdo it by coming off strong or desperate
  • DON’T dress provocatively by giving out the impression
  • DON’T make dinner plans (keep it short like a coffee shop or something)
  • DON’T drink too much (keep your senses alert at all times)
  • DON’T expect him to pay for the date
  • DON’T make it seem like an interrogation by asking too many questions
  • DON’T be negative
  • DON’T not make an effort in your appearance
